Biden Administration Snubs Trump’s Role In Israel Hostage Deal

The Biden administration is under fire for refusing to acknowledge President-elect Donald Trump’s critical role in securing a ceasefire and hostage release between Israel and Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly thanked both Biden and Trump, yet the White House has avoided giving Trump any credit.

During a White House press briefing, Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich asked Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre why Biden was unwilling to recognize Trump’s involvement. Jean-Pierre deflected, stating that the deal was the result of Biden’s diplomatic efforts over the past eight months and downplayed any contribution from Trump.

Contrary to Jean-Pierre’s claims, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller admitted that Trump’s team was “critical” in finalizing the agreement. Miller highlighted that coordination between Biden’s administration and Trump’s transition team helped push the deal forward.

When directly asked whether Trump deserved credit, Biden mocked the idea by responding, “Is that a joke?” This dismissive remark stands in stark contrast to Netanyahu’s acknowledgment of Trump’s assistance in the negotiations.

Trump celebrated the deal on Truth Social, attributing the successful negotiations to his election victory. He emphasized that his firm stance pressured Hamas into making concessions and promised continued support for Israel’s security.

Critics argue that Biden’s refusal to credit Trump is politically motivated and reflects a desperate attempt to secure his own legacy. This unwillingness to recognize bipartisan cooperation has raised concerns about the administration’s priorities in handling international diplomacy.
