Biden’s Migrant Entry App Reprogrammed For Voluntary Departures

A mobile app once used by the Biden administration to streamline mass migration into the U.S. has been reworked under President Donald Trump’s leadership. The controversial CBP One app is now being used to facilitate self-deportation for those in the country illegally.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced the change Monday, explaining that the new CBP Home app will allow migrants to voluntarily report their intention to leave. This new function is part of Trump’s broader plan to end Biden-era policies that encouraged mass illegal immigration.

Upon taking office, Trump immediately shut down the app’s previous functions, which had enabled migrants to schedule border crossings, secure parole and even arrange flights into the U.S. With that system dismantled, the administration has focused on removing those who entered unlawfully.

In addition to the app’s new role in self-deportation, ICE has increased its enforcement actions nationwide, targeting migrants with criminal records and pending deportation orders. Raids have become more frequent, and those who fail to leave voluntarily are being swiftly arrested and deported.

At the border, illegal crossings have plummeted as word spreads about Trump’s immigration crackdown. Many migrants have turned back on their own, realizing that entry into the U.S. is no longer guaranteed. Mexican authorities have also reported an increase in migrants voluntarily returning south.

Trump’s policies have also included ramping up deportation flights, utilizing military facilities to process removals more efficiently. The administration’s message is clear — illegal immigration will no longer be tolerated.
