Border Czar Tom Homan Responds To Crockett’s Criticism

Tom Homan, appointed as border czar by President-elect Donald Trump, has pushed back against remarks by Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), who questioned his qualifications to oversee immigration policy. Homan addressed the issue during a Newsmax interview, defending his record and expertise.

“Well, look, I forgot more about this issue than she’ll ever know,” Homan said. He criticized Crockett for her comments, arguing that his decades of experience give him a deeper understanding of the immigration crisis than his critics.

Crockett’s remarks focused on family separations and other Trump-era immigration policies, which she described as inhumane. Homan countered by pointing to crimes committed by individuals in the U.S. illegally, highlighting the impact on American families. “How many young women have to be raped and murdered and burned alive?” he asked, referencing violent crimes tied to illegal immigration.

Homan defended family detention policies as a necessary and humane measure to ensure accountability while keeping families together. He argued that critics overlook the long-term harm caused by illegal immigration on communities and public safety.

The U.S. has seen a record-breaking influx of migrants under President Joe Biden, with over 7.4 million encounters reported since 2021. Homan said these numbers reflect a need for stronger enforcement and praised Trump’s plans to secure the border.

Homan dismissed Crockett’s criticism as uninformed, emphasizing his commitment to implementing policies that prioritize security and address the ongoing crisis at the southern border.
