Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki tragically passed away after being electrocuted during a live performance on July 13. The incident occurred at the Solar Hotel in Salinopolis when a wet fan came on stage and hugged the 35-year-old musician, triggering an electric shock from a nearby cable, as reported by The Sun.
Sasaki, who was performing live, died instantly from the shock. He leaves behind his wife, Mariana, whom he married just 11 months ago.
The circumstances surrounding the fan’s wet condition remain unclear, and the extent of their injuries has not been reported. Authorities in Salinopolis have launched an investigation, and the Solar Hotel is cooperating fully with the authorities. In a statement on Instagram, the hotel expressed their commitment to supporting Sasaki’s family and cooperating with the investigation to clarify the events.
Tributes for Sasaki have been pouring in from fans and fellow artists. Singer Adriano Freitas, a close friend, said, “We were friends in daily life, beyond music. A super charismatic guy, his talent was incredible. A great friend, very family-oriented, attentive to his friendships, and to those who appreciated his work.”
Comedian Natto Almeida also paid tribute to the musician, remembering him for his kindness and politeness off-stage. “What will definitely stand out about Sasaki is his good heart, very polite,” Almeida said. “I think this will be the lasting mark he leaves behind.”
