CNN Confronts Adam Schiff Over Lies

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who was recently kicked off of the House Intelligence Committee, faced pushback during a Sunday interview with CNN after show host Dana Bash inquired about past instances of him allegedly using information for in a dishonest and partisan manner.

The comments came on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Bash asking about Schiff losing his committee position.

“You said that there was direct evidence of the fact that Donald Trump colluded with Russia back in 2016. Special counsel Robert Mueller said in his report — quote — ‘The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government,’” said Bash. “Republicans argue that’s proof that you used your position the Intelligence Committee to intentionally mislead Americans, which is why you should not be on that committee.”

Schiff responded by alleging the report did not in fact claim that and that it actually showed that then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign manager gave internal campaign polling data to a Russian agent.

“To most Americans, that is collusion,” claimed the California congressman. “Now, whether it’s proof beyond a reasonable doubt of the crime of conspiracy — that’s what Bob Mueller was talking about — I have always distinguished between the two.”

Bash then brought up another instance that Republicans cite when discussing their issues with objections to Schiff serving on the Intelligence Committee.

“Ahead of the first Trump impeachment, you said the committee had not spoken to a whistle-blower,” she said, before suggesting Schiff had lied. “In fact, that turned out not to be true.”

“When I was asked the question, I thought they were referring to whether we had brought the whistle-blower in,” answered Schiff. “And I should have been more clear in my answer.”

She then noted that Schiff’s claims were ruled to be “false” by The Washington Post’s ‘fact-check’ team.

CNN strangely labeled Schiff as a Republican during the broadcast. At one point during the interview, the chyron under Schiff reportedly had an “R” listed before his title of “Former Chairman, Intelligence Committee.”

In other related news, the disgraced congressman has recently announced that he will be making a bid for the Senate seat held by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).
