Comer Calls On DOJ To Postpone Hunter Biden Indictment

Mounting evidence suggests that the Justice Department is concluding its investigation into Hunter Biden and an indictment could be forthcoming.

Reports indicate that attorneys for President Joe Biden’s son met with federal prosecutors last week to discuss the probe into allegations that he failed to pay taxes on all of his income and lied on a form when purchasing a firearm. It remains to be seen what charges, if any, are being finalized — but the White House is said to be preparing for the impact of an indictment.

Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers are investigating whistleblower claims that the Biden family was involved in a blatant scheme to trade on the president’s political connections.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) indicated that the panel will be releasing new evidence later this week and urged the DOJ to refrain from handing down any indictment until after that occurs.

During a recent Fox News Channel interview, he said: “My message to the Department of Justice is very loud and clear. Do not indict Hunter Biden before Wednesday.”

Comer went on to suggest that federal entities have not “done a whole lot of digging” into allegations against the Bidens, sharing his belief that “there are a whole lot of tips that the IRS and the DOJ don’t have.”

Specifically, he pointed to evidence indicating that shell corporations were used to collect payments “in exchange for something that then-Vice President Biden and now President Biden would have done,” crediting the whistleblower account for providing “some very crucial information” as the committee conducts its investigation.

“More and more evidence is pointing towards Joe Biden,” the Kentucky Republican added. “Obviously, Joe Biden was involved in all this despite the fact that he lied to the American people, despite the fact that his press secretary continues to lie about it.”

Meanwhile, Comer accused the DOJ of pursuing charges against Hunter Biden that amount to “a slap on the wrist” and “a drop in the bucket” compared to the evidence House Republicans are considering.

“We’re going to produce an additional five Biden family members, more countries, more [limited liability companies], more bank accounts,” he said. “This thing is much bigger than anyone would have ever predicted, and it all points towards Joe Biden.”
