Democrat Blasts Biden For Border With No ‘Repercussions’

Even some Democrats have had their fill of seeing the U.S. invaded by thousands of military-age unvetted males due to President Joe Biden’s open border policies. The latest is Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), who said there must be “repercussions” for illegally crossing the border.

Addressing the issue on Fox News’ “Fox News Sunday,” Cuellar noted the nation’s southern border is in the midst of a massive upsurge in illegal migrants.

His district is on the U.S. border with Mexico.

Calling for there to be some legal consequences in place, Cuellar declared, “You’ve got to deport people, and you’ve got to show images of people being deported.”

If you don’t send people back south across the border, he said, it becomes nothing more than a “speed bump.”

Cuellar further warned that the looming government shutdown, if it happens, could have major detrimental consequences for those patrolling the border.

He asked when did we last see people going the other way instead of just streaming northward across the border. The Democrat called for “the right balance” and said the voices of community leaders must be respected.

Part of stemming the tide, Cuellar said Sunday, is to get the Mexican government involved in stopping surges before they reach the border. Using a football analogy, he said the U.S. is “playing defense on the one-yard line” when it should be played on the 20-yard line.

The sad reality is that the U.S. is hardly playing defense at all.

A Monday report by the Washington Free Beacon revealed that the Biden White House was aware the current surge of migrants was coming and did nothing to prepare.

U.S. officials knew that Mexican authorities saw a rise in apprehensions since May — a strong signal that yet another massive push across the border was coming. But the Department of Homeland Security did not act.

Record-breaking numbers were released by the DHS on Friday showing that 232,972 illegal migrants were encountered at the U.S-Mexico border in August. That’s the highest August tally on record and the most thus far in 2023.

But Biden is steadfast in his refusal to protect the country from this predictable invasion. He simply will not raise security to the point needed to push the numbers back down the days of former President Donald Trump.

This is a dereliction of duty worthy of impeachment.
