Drafts of NSBA Letter Asked to Deploy Military Against Parents

The National School Boards Association (NSBA) made demands to the White House, asking that the Army National Guard and military police be deployed at contentious school board meetings. Accusing dissenting parents of being ‘plotters’ the NSBA attempted to leverage the federal government against dissenting voices. They were partially successful as United States Attorney General Merrick Garland tasked the FBI to investigate parents who were protesting the inclusion of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in their local schools.

Even though there was intense backlash, Garland refused to retract the assignment. The NSBA’s overreaction was due to the pushback from parents who discovered what was being taught to their children. The COVID pandemic closed schools, but, more importantly, forced virtual learning where parents were more involved with their children’s education.

Most parents were under the delusion that their children were attending the same type of school that they did when they were young. Parents had to deal with the dual blow of finding out not only does the world they thought they were sending their children into does not exist anymore, but that teachers were also actively trying to indoctrinate students into an ideology that was in direct opposition to parents’ core beliefs.

Contentious school board meetings were not the only reaction from parents. Over a million students have abandoned the public schools. This has had a disastrous effect on funding for schools in general.

Public schools are in a funding ‘death spiral’ they will not be escaping anytime soon. The draconian reaction by the NSBA and progressive school boards across the country are only waking parents up; it is not deterring them from taking action when it comes to their kids.

Parenting is something that crosses party lines. When someone is defending their children against a perceived threat, they do not start with how the situation impacts their politics. The public schools are discovering that most of the country does not agree with their approach to educating children on issues of race and gender. There is a great realignment happening in the schools that will have repercussions for the foreseeable future.
