Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) disclosed alarming information during a recent interview, revealing that there are at least five active assassination teams within the U.S. targeting President Donald Trump. Speaking on Breitbart News Daily, Gaetz explained that three of these teams are foreign in nature, while two are domestic, raising serious concerns about the former president’s security as he campaigns for the 2024 election.
Gaetz cited a senior official from the Department of Homeland Security as the source of the information. “I don’t think we have enough force protection around President Trump given the threat environment,” Gaetz told host Mike Slater. He emphasized that these assassination teams have become a growing concern, especially after two recent failed attempts on Trump’s life.
The most recent assassination attempt occurred in West Palm Beach, Florida, where a suspect was arrested outside of Trump’s golf property. Gaetz warned that such incidents highlight the need for increased security measures, particularly around Trump’s public appearances. “We are aware of at least five teams in-country that are geared toward killing Trump,” Gaetz said.
The congressman further explained that the foreign assassination teams reportedly have connections to Iran, Ukraine, and Pakistan, while the domestic threats remain a serious concern. Gaetz called for a reevaluation of the Secret Service’s resources, noting that some have been diverted to protect other individuals.
With the 2024 election approaching, Gaetz urged Congress to investigate whether Trump’s protective detail is sufficient. The growing threat against Trump has raised fears that future attacks could be more organized and lethal.
