Gettysburg College Event Is The Inversion Of ‘Peace and Justice’

It’s hard to say whether the Left are blatant hypocrites, willfully ignorant, or painfully confused these days. But it seems the harder they push their agendas, the more their antics are being called out.

The Gender Sexuality and Resource Center at Gettysburg College is walking back slowly after receiving backlash about an event that was supposed to take place Saturday, Nov. 12. The group was planning a paint and write event for students who are “tired of white cis men”, the invitation read.

The event was going to offer a place for students to create art through paintings and writings that conveyed their frustrations with what some in the LGBTQ+ community deem society’s worst nightmare- the white cis man.

The event invitation went viral last week and garnered over 2 million shares on social platforms. However, the widespread online engagement to the event wasn’t positive. The group canceled the event- presumably because of the reaction it received.

According to Young America’s Foundation (YAF), the event was organized by a student and sponsored by the college’s Gender and Sexuality Resource Center as part of a Peace and Justice Studies senior project.

Andrew Breschard, a leader of the college’s YAF chapter, along with other students, has filed complaints with the school through its biased incident reporting system. “The fact that the college has permitted an event of this nature contradicts every narrative about inclusion that has been put forth by the college in recent years,” said Breschard.

The institution’s website identifies a bias incident as “a behavior that is derogatory in nature, and targets an individual based on their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, marital/familial status, possession of a General Education Development Certificate (GED) as compared to a high school diploma, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sex, age, or genetic information”.

The sheer hypocrisy of hosting a radical, gender-identity event as a part of the peace and justice program has left many students, alumni, and critically-thinking people wondering if the Left even knows the meaning of the virtues it promotes.

The Left demands fairness, equality, and inclusion for all — and nothing says “peace and justice” like openly shaming individuals based on their race, gender, and sexual orientation.
