Our favorite Swedish climate activist has made a triumphant return to the public sphere! Greta Thunberg appeared in the media yet again, this time to call for humans to fundamentally change their entire lifestyles.
The nineteen-year-old took to the podium at Southbank Centre’s London Literature Festival to promote her new literary masterpiece, “The Climate Book,” which groups essays of over 100 so-called “climate experts.”
“My name is Greta Thunberg; I’m a climate activist from Sweden and I want to use my platform to share the truth about the climate crisis, to tell the full story,” the Swedish teen began.
Thunberg then suggested that the desire to return to a more normal state of human affairs is frivolous and removed from reality.
“At that time, many people were already talking about going [makes quotation marks with her fingers] ‘back to normal.’ But we are never going back to normal again.”
“‘Normal’ was already a crisis,” insisted Thunberg, before she launched into a tirade against capitalism and humankind. “What we refer to as normal is an extreme system built on the exploitation of people and planets. It is a system defined by colonialism, imperialism, oppression, and genocide by the so-called Global North to accumulate wealth that still shapes our current world order.”
Such comments by Thunberg were not entirely surprising; she has been known to speak out against “racist” capitalism in the past.
Retired US Marine and Republican congressional candidate Jason Nelson poked fun at Thunberg for her anti-market views, posting online, “It’s weird that
@GretaThunberg’s book isn’t free. I guess she only hates capitalism that benefits you.”

It appears Thunberg is highly dedicated in her pursuit of what she views as ‘climate activism.’ Recent reports revealed that the Swedish teenage activist announced she will not attend the United Nations’ COP27 climate conference in Egypt. Her reasoning? The event is a “scam” where world leaders fake their concern about a “climate crisis” in order to get more press.
