Libs Of TikTok Fires Back At AOC

The founder of the popular Twitter account “Libs of TikTok” appeared on Fox News’ Friday broadcast of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to respond to harsh remarks from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) during this week’s House hearing on Big Tech censorship. The hearing featured former Twitter executive Yoel Roth, among other high-profile witnesses.

During the hearing, Ocasio-Cortez attacked the Twitter account for sharing videos regarding Boston Children’s Hospital’s gender transition procedures for minors. She asked Roth about posts from Libs of TikTok, including one featuring a purported medical expert from the children’s hospital discussing transgender surgery for minors. She mainly focused on a post that discussed “gender-affirming hysterectomies” and “top surgery,” or mastectomies, for minor girls.

Ocasio-Cortez deemed that the information posted by Libs of TikTok was a “lie” that was “circulated by other prominent far-right influencers.” She added that the report led to “real-life harassment and ultimately a bomb threat” to Boston Children’s Hospital.

However, the owner of the Libs of TikTok account, Chaya Raichik, stated that she does not engage in commentary on her account but only re-posts liberals in their own words. She added that the entire hearing displayed “very concerning” assertions about government officials working with the FBI and Big Tech to censor those who “dared speak the truth.”

Raichik noted that the truth is inconvenient to Ocasio-Cortez and her allies, who want to label her a “terrorist.” She added that if she is responsible for a bomb threat for posting a publicly available video from Boston Children’s Hospital, then Ocasio-Cortez criticizing her on the House floor would make AOC responsible for all the death threats she receives.

Carlson noted that Ocasio-Cortez has bodyguards, whereas Raichik doesn’t. He asked Raichik about her life, as she receives a lot of death threats and has had people showing up at her home. Raichik observed that criticism has to go both ways, but it only appears to go one way in Washington and the media. She confirmed Carlson’s statement that she receives many death threats and does not have bodyguards paid for by the government.
