Manhunt Underway For Suspected New Orleans Terror Cell

Law enforcement officials are hunting for suspects connected to a New Year’s terror attack in New Orleans that killed 10 and injured 30. Shamsud-Din Jabbar, identified as the attacker, carried out a vehicle and shooting assault before investigators uncovered a broader plot.

Jabbar’s truck contained firearms and multiple improvised explosive devices concealed in coolers, wired for remote detonation. An ISIS flag was also found with Jabbar, linking him to extremist ideologies. Authorities are working to identify others involved in the attack.

Surveillance footage showed three men and one woman placing bombs in the French Quarter. The FBI has stated they do not believe Jabbar acted alone, with officials actively investigating his known associates and seeking public assistance.

Gov. Jeff Landry confirmed during a press conference that law enforcement is pursuing multiple suspects, describing them as “bad people.” Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) added that the FBI is “in the process of trying to catch the other bad guys.”

Jabbar’s ex-wife’s home was searched by federal agents. Her current husband reported that Jabbar’s behavior became erratic during his conversion to Islam, raising questions about his ties to extremist groups.

Flight tracker data shows the FBI Hostage Rescue Team mobilizing to New Orleans, signaling a high-priority operation to locate and neutralize the terror cell.
