Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, believes that the ongoing criminal prosecutions against former President Donald Trump will only boost his standing in the polls as he seeks to unseat President Joe Biden in the 2024 election.
“The more unfair the attacks on Trump seem to the public the higher he will rise in the polls,” Musk wrote in a recent post on his platform.

Trump currently faces four criminal cases, two brought by Biden’s Department of Justice and two by Democratic prosecutors in Georgia and New York. Many of the former president’s allies have characterized the investigations as politically motivated “witch hunts.”
Musk was responding to a post by Mike Benz of the Foundation for Freedom Online, who raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest involving the judge presiding over Trump’s New York trial. Judge Juan Merchan has reportedly donated to Biden’s campaign and his daughter works in marketing for Democratic causes.

Benz also questioned the credibility of the prosecution’s key witness Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney who is a convicted felon. Despite the legal challenges, Trump has maintained a lead over Biden in recent polls as the 2024 campaign season approaches.

Musk has previously expressed reservations about voting for Biden, but has also declined to financially support either presidential candidate at this time.
