Mystery Drone Sightings Prompt Trump To Call For Immediate Action

Reports of unidentified drones across the U.S. have prompted President-elect Donald Trump to demand swift government action. Trump urged for transparency regarding the sightings, stating that the drones should be shot down if their origins remain unclear.

“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country. Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge,” Trump wrote Friday. “I [don’t] think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, [shoot] them down!”

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have confirmed they are investigating the incidents but stated that there is no evidence of a national security or public safety threat. The agencies noted that many of the sightings are likely manned aircraft operating within the law.

The Federal Aviation Administration has implemented temporary flight restrictions over New Jersey, including the area surrounding Trump’s Bedminster golf club. These restrictions, extended to December 20, are part of ongoing efforts to address public concerns.

White House national security spokesperson John Kirby acknowledged the public’s fears, noting that President Biden has tasked his team with examining the issue. However, Kirby advised caution against aggressive measures, citing risks to public safety.

As investigations continue, questions about the adequacy of current drone regulations remain. Trump’s call for decisive action has intensified the debate, placing pressure on authorities to provide clarity and reassurance to the public.
