Nina Jankowicz is Going on a Media Campaign to Save Face

The Disinformation Governance Board has been disseminated. It should be noted that it lasted around the same amount of time that CNN+ did, which was roughly one month. Now, Nina Jankowicz, who was heading up the board, is going on a campaign to defend herself and blame everyone but herself for its cancellation.

Jankowicz was placed on a pedestal as a “disinformation expert,” but was constantly criticized for her own twisted view on information that was proven to be incorrect. The Department of Homeland Security is 100% at fault for placing Jankowicz in the spotlight and it was justified to light her up on her past social media posts.

Town Hall claims that Jankowicz is “going on the liberal media circuit to say she was derailed by right-wing disinformation.”

That media circuit has already begun. Jankowicz appeared on CNN and CBS News to complain.

While on CNN, Jankowicz took no responsibility for the failure and acted as though conservatives weren’t allowing the board to remain. Jankowicz said, “Unfortunately and ironically we were undone exactly by a disinformation campaign coming from folks who apparently want to put our national security behind their own personal political ambitions.”

That’s actually the exact opposite of what happened. Jankowicz has contributed a great deal to destroying national security for the last several years. Jankowicz contributed to the lie that former President Donald Trump colluded with Russia and she pushed the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation. It’s been proven that Trump didn’t collude with Russia and Hunter Biden’s laptop is legit.

That means that Jankowicz vouched for at least two people who used international sources to sway political views. That’s not protecting national security.

Jankowicz also appeared on CBS News and said that while with DHS, her politics were always “checked at the door,” but according to Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, he didn’t know anything about her politics.

Jankowicz told CBS News, “It is quite ironic that Republicans decontextualized a couple of tweets… and part of my personal life that have been picked on in this childish game in order to endanger our national security.”

Childish games? If Jankowicz isn’t aware, this is real life and people have these things called constitutional rights and the government has to protect them. One of those constitutional rights is free speech. Free speech doesn’t have to be true to be legal, but the Disinformation Governance Board didn’t seem to care about the legality of their work.
