President Joe Biden and Mexican President Andrés Manuel Lopez are reportedly amid negotiations over a migration swap. Per Townhall, the arrangement would see 360,000 migrants legally cross into U.S. soil.
Biden Is Reportedly Planning a Massive Migration Swap With Mexico

As part of the swap, 360,000 non-Mexican illegal migrants who illegally migrated into the U.S. from the Southern border will be deported back into Mexico.
This deal comes amid continuous calls for Biden to take action on the growing border crisis.
With the 2024 elections on the way, his administration is finally making attempts to step up to the issue. As part of a new enforcement model, officials have put in place dire consequences for any non-Mexican migrant who goes outside the rules and attempts to cross the border illegally.
Such migrants face penalties including arrest, deportation to Mexico, incarceration, and possible felony charges for a second illegal crossing. They might also be banned from the U.S. for five years.
The Department of Homeland Security will announce the penalties soon as U.S. officials say the measures will “create a presumption against asylum eligibility” under which illegal immigrants facing deportation hide under claims of fear of persecution in their home countries.
According to Townhall, the idea came from the Biden administration, and Obrador has been open to negotiations even though there isn’t a seal on the deal yet.
If successful, the policy is expected to be a “game changer” for the Biden administration as it would be the perfect cover to deter the never-ending inflow of migrants whom the administration does not want to be seen deporting.
“I think we’re into a new era and new territory,” Doris Meissner from the Clinton administration said in an interview with the Washington Post.
The plan involves migrants native to Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba and Haiti. A lawsuit filed by Republican states alleges that the swap hinges on illegal Biden-created parole pipelines. It also depends on the administration’s expansion of the parole process, which would speed up work authorization for migrants who have sponsors in the U.S.
The administration’s claims aside, the deal would do the double work of helping Mexico transfer more Hispanics into the U.S. and its jobs while also helping Biden’s 2024 election campaign staff hide the administration’s incompetence in dealing with the messy influx of migrants into the country.
It really would be the perfect shield for the Left’s detour from their civic obligations to Americans.
