Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has introduced the “KAMALA Act” to ensure that American taxpayers are no longer funding housing assistance for illegal migrants. Officially titled the “Keeping Aid for Municipalities and Localities Accountable Act,” Biggs’ bill would block federal funds from supporting state and local programs that offer housing aid to non-citizens.
Speaking on Just the News, No Noise, Biggs highlighted the urgent need for the legislation, pointing to a recent California bill that would have provided loan assistance to illegal migrants seeking to buy homes. Although the bill was ultimately vetoed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, Biggs argued that it represents a growing trend of prioritizing illegal migrants over U.S. citizens. “This was just such a slap in the face to hard-working Americans,” Biggs said.
The congressman explained that the KAMALA Act is designed to address the housing crisis fueled by the rapid influx of illegal migrants, which he believes is contributing to the shortage of affordable homes for American families. Biggs cited California’s failed proposal as an example of policies that hurt American workers by diverting resources to non-citizens.
Biggs hopes that the KAMALA Act will gain momentum in Congress, with several co-sponsors already supporting the bill. He is urging House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to move the legislation forward, emphasizing that it is critical to protect American taxpayers from being forced to fund benefits for illegal migrants.
As the immigration debate heats up, the KAMALA Act has garnered attention for its focus on prioritizing American citizens in housing assistance programs, a key issue for conservative lawmakers like Biggs.
