Report: Police in Uvalde had Proper Weapons Long Before Entering School

A damning report unveils that police officers outside the Uvalde elementary school were actually armed long before previously reported.

Twenty-one people, mostly children, were brutally murdered by a crazed gunman, where police waited 1 hour and 15 minutes before intervening.

Within 19 minutes of the gunman entering the school campus, officers were equipped with heavy firepower and also tactical equipment. Even so, the officers failed to enter the school for almost an hour. According to investigators, police had proper protection but did not act in a timely manner.

Huge backlash over this incident continues to grow and after this recent report, even more questions are being raised about why there was no intervention by police while children and teachers were shot.

18-year-old Salvador Ramos is responsible for the heinous act. Still, the victims’ parents also say the people in charge of giving police orders also hold some responsibility for the tragedy. The gunman had written on social media, “I’m going to shoot my grandmother” and “I’m going to shoot an elementary school,” shortly before he launched the attack.

Reports say that some officers wanted to get inside sooner but were ordered not to.

A mom has been hailed a hero for defying police orders and going into the elementary school to retrieve her two boys. Police obstructed her, but she was able to break away and sprinted towards the gunfire. According to the mom, Angeli Gomez, officers have threatened her with probation violation if she continues speaking to the media.

Gomez, along with other parents, begged armed officers who were just standing outside to save their children, but instead, police seemed more concerned with keeping parents out of the building.

“He (an officer) said, ‘Well, we’re going to have to arrest you because you’re being very uncooperative,'” Gomez relayed. “I said, well, you’re going to have to arrest me because I’m going in there. Y’all are standing with snipers and y’all are far away. If y’all don’t go in there, I’m going in there.”

The recent reports about the officers being armed and ready, but not executing, are only bringing more controversy to this sad situation.
