Former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson made wild accusations that former President Donald Trump lunged and grabbed the wheel of a limo while simultaneously trying to choke a Secret Service agent in an attempt to turn around and join the protesters at the Capitol on January 6. Even better, she claimed Trump did this from the backseat.
Hutchinson claimed that Trump said, “I’m the f—ing president! Take me to the Capitol now!”
These allegations are so far-fetched that it’s difficult to imagine this situation playing out.
The allegations are already being shredded apart. Peter Alexander, NBC News chief White House correspondent, says that he has proof that the claims are false.
Alexander tweeted, “A source close to the Secret Service tells me both Bobby Engel, the lead agent, and the presidential limousine/SUV driver are prepared to testify under oath that neither man was assaulted and that Mr. Trump never lunged for the steering wheel.”
The problem with Hutchinson’s testimony is that she wasn’t even there at the time she claimed Trump did this.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was also “shocked” to hear about the allegations. Of course, she has to pretend that she actually believes the tale Hutchinson told. But just because someone testifies, that doesn’t mean they’re telling the truth.
In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Ocasio-Cortez said, “It is stunning, it is absolutely stunning. And that the president himself was willing to choke his own Secret Service in order to do so.”
In response to Hutchinson’s testimony, Trump posted on Truth Social, “The woman, who was a BIG Trump fan long AFTER January 6th (if her Fake Stories were true, why would she want to be?), was let go and not wanted in Florida, so she made up phony and completely outrageous stories, the craziest of which has already been proven to be a complete lie. The Secret Service said, according to the Media, it wasn’t true. Wow! She has now lost all credibility, just like the partisan Witch Hunt perpetuated by the Unselect Committee of political hacks. MAGA!”
There’s more urgency now than ever that Trump should have the ability to tell his side of the story.
