Trump Deploys Military Forces To Border As Immigration Crackdown Expands

President Donald Trump has taken decisive action to strengthen border security by sending 1,500 active-duty military personnel to the southern border. The deployment includes Marines from California and Army troops from installations in several states, all tasked with bolstering defenses and assisting in immigration enforcement efforts.

Marines from Camp Pendleton, along with Army units from Texas, New York, and Georgia, have started arriving at key border locations. Their responsibilities include placing barriers, assisting with surveillance operations, and providing logistical support to border agents. Officials say the number of troops could increase based on operational demands.

In addition to the troop deployment, the Trump administration has moved forward with stricter immigration enforcement measures. The CBP One app, previously used to facilitate migrant entry, has been deactivated. Meanwhile, the El Paso border crossing has been shut down to stem the influx of illegal crossings.

State and local law enforcement officers are being deputized to aid federal agents. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller stated that authorities resisting federal immigration orders will face prosecution. The plan is to create a coordinated enforcement effort to ensure immigration laws are upheld.

Meanwhile, deportation flights have begun, with Air Force C-17 transport planes removing individuals from the country. Flights departing from Texas and Arizona are being conducted under the direction of the Department of Homeland Security.

Military officials continue planning additional support operations, with the potential for further reinforcements if conditions require them.
