Former President Donald Trump has vowed to ban men from competing in women’s sports and to rescind President Joe Biden’s Title IX rewrite immediately if re-elected. Speaking on the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton radio show, Trump emphasized his commitment to restoring fairness in women’s athletics.
Clay Travis announced the news on X, stating, “President Trump just pledged to all of us on @clayandbuck that men will not be allowed to compete against women in sports when he is elected president. He promises to take care of it on day one and end Kamala and Biden’s new Title IX policies allowing this to happen.”
Trump reiterated his stance on Truth Social, declaring, “I WILL KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN’S SPORTS!”
This pledge comes amid controversy at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Italian boxer Angela Carini withdrew from her fight against Algerian boxer Imane Khelif. Khelif, who was disqualified from the 2023 world championships for having “XY chromosomes” and elevated testosterone levels, reignited debates about transgender participation in women’s sports.
The GOP’s 2024 platform reflects Trump’s promises, aiming to ban taxpayer funding for sex-change surgeries, halt gender transition promotion in schools, and reverse Biden’s Title IX education regulations to protect women and girls.
Trump’s promise addresses concerns about the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports, a hot-button issue that has seen increasing public discourse. Critics argue that allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports creates unfair advantages, while supporters advocate for inclusivity and the rights of transgender individuals.
As the election season progresses, Trump’s stance is expected to garner support from conservative voters who prioritize traditional values and gender distinctions in sports. His pledge to act “on day one” underscores his urgency and commitment to reversing what he views as detrimental policies implemented by the Biden administration.
Trump’s declarations mark a clear policy direction aimed at preserving the integrity of women’s sports and ensuring competitive fairness, positioning him as a champion for female athletes and traditional gender roles.
