Trump To Screen ‘Sound Of Freedom’ At Golf Club

Former President Donald Trump recently announced he would screen the widely successful film “Sound of Freedom” at his golf club in New Jersey.

The screening will take place at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster on July 19, 2023. Trump’s campaign said the screening would host members of the club as well as supporters.

Trump’s announcement comes as the film reached number one in box office totals for back-to-back days and has exceeded the expectations of many.

Trump will be among those in attendance for the screening and will be joined by “Sound of Freedom’s” very own Eduardo Verastegui, the film’s producer, as well as the film’s lead actor Jim Caviezel.

Trump’s campaign, in its announcement, took aim at the efforts by left-leaning media outlets to trash the film.

“Liberal media outlets like the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and The Hollywood Reporter have refused to review the film, while publications like Rolling Stone, Washington Post, CNN, and the Guardian have trashed the film and mocked the millions of movie-goers who purchased tickets to screenings,” the campaign’s announcement reads.

“Sound of Freedom” is based on a true story. It directs viewers into the life of Tim Ballard, a former U.S. Department of Homeland Security agent who quit his job and turned his efforts to end the trafficking of children in Colombia.

Caviezel plays Ballard in the film. The actor is mostly known for his role in “The Passion of the Christ,”.

As president, Trump signed nine pieces of legislation against human trafficking domestically and abroad. According to the Washington Examiner, the former president approved a grant package from the Department of Justice (DOJ) to help combat human trafficking.

In 2019, Trump invited Ballard to the White House to learn about the former federal agent’s experiences in saving children from human trafficking while also highlighting the importance of Trump’s border wall along the southern border.

So far, “Sound of Freedom” has raked in nearly $50 million since its release on July 4, 2023. The film’s budget was just $15 million. The film has received a 75% in rotten tomatoes as well as a 100% audience score.
